Our main class reading book for the second half of the autumn term is the wonderful We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. We have introduced the children to the main characters, and have talked about what might happen as we continue to read the book. Blue class decided that they wanted to act out the Bear Hunt story. We realised that we would need some stunning scenery and props to help us.
We have used our D & T time to make a backdrop, featuring trees, a river and some mud. We thought about what colours we would need for each piece of scenery, as well as how trees, rivers and mud look and feel different. After painting our backdrop, the children are going to add a collage effect to help bring the Bear Hunt scenery to life. We are using tin foil for the river, tissue paper for the trees and cotton wool painted brown for the mud. Blue class are now all ready to go on their very own Bear Hunt!
You can watch a short video of the scenery being prepared above.
