Class 12 Community Work

The new spring term may have only just started, but our hard working Year 12 pupils have already been incredibly busy! We have been continuing our work in preparing the pupils to become active members in our local community. Our maths lessons have looked at how to use a cash point machine, and the importance of safety and security. Using a computer-simulated model, Class 12 practised entering a PIN number, and then following the instructions on the screen.

Our pupils have also continued their practical work in planning, and then exploring local areas of interest. Having produced our very own wonderful maps of the local Lambeth and Southwark area, we are now visiting various local locations that are of interest. This week we ventured out to explore All Saints Church in West Dulwich. The pupils first plotted a suitable route whilst in the classroom. We thought about which roads we would need to walk along, and which way we had to turn at each junction.

When we arrived at All Saints, we had a look around the building, and talked about some of the features that help us to identify this as a place of worship. Our afternoon of exploration concluded with some fun time in the local Belair Park. You can watch a brief video featuring the Class 12 trip out above, as well as look at some of the photos in our picture gallery below.
