Our recent literacy work in Yellow Class has come out of our enjoyment for the current class reading book, Frisk and the Cat. This is a great piece of text that has introduced the pupils to many new words that we can now explore.
A great deal of our work has looked at letter and word recognition. We started off our activity by looking at a long string of letters. Our task was to find within this bunch a word that we have been learning how to read and recognise from the book.
We also used this exercise to practice the handwriting of the Yellow Class pupils. We started to think about some of the opposite meanings, such as happy and sad.
