Purple Class Updates

Purple Class

Purple Class are progressing well with their weekly sessions spent in the Turney School library. This is a period that we value greatly as it helps the pupils to feel comfortable in the library setting, as well as to explore independently some of the activities that are in place.

As well as the many reading resources, the Turney School library also has a soft area, an ICT corner and a place where the pupils can relax and enjoy the books that are available. We use this work to encourage the Purple Class children to make independent choices. We are interested in finding out what their own interests are, and then to encourage these to be enjoyed in more detail.

Purple Class are also preparing for a very ambitious school assembly. This will be themed around Black History Month. We have been learning to count in Swahili, and will be helping our other friends from around the school with this exercise during the assembly. We have also been preparing our traditional African costumes for the assembly!
