Purple Class have had some great fun exploring the various characters in our current Dear Zoo book. Having read the book and become familiar with some of the animals, we then asked the class members to match up some of the pictures with the words on a Dear Zoo storyboard. We have also helped the pupils with their verbal communication, encouraging them to identify each animal within their storyboard. Our work then advanced to forming simple sentences about each animal.
We have placed a listening booth in the soft play area of Purple Class. As well as the story of Dear Zoo being read out, we are also able to add in various animal noises. We have been asking the pupils to identify the sounds that they can hear.
