Our Class 11 pupils have been completing some of the artwork that will be submitted as part of their GCSE entry level. Self-portraits have formed a large part of this work. Working in different mediums the pupils have been able to experiment with different layers of shading and use of pastel colours. The idea behind this coursework has been to produce a self-portrait that is abstract in appearance.
Class 11 will continue with their artwork over the next few weeks with a look at the Chinese New Year. We will be creating our own Chinese lanterns to help celebrate this special occasion. We are keen for the pupils to create their own designs, but still work within the framework of a traditional Chinese pattern.
