We have been continuing to make great progress with our gymnastics work during P.E. lessons in Class 3J. We have introduced the pupils to the skills required to carry out a perfect forward roll. We discussed how safety is a key factor if we want to succeed in this task.
The pupils have been shown how it is important to have their chin resting on their chest so that their head is tucked away. We have also leant that the main power and thrust for a forward roll comes from pushing our bottoms upwards in the air.
Class 3J have been perfecting this technique by first of all starting off working on the large soft mats. When each pupil felt comfortable, we advanced this activity to the gymnastic mats. You can watch a short video of our forward roll skills above.
