Yellow Class have been continuing to make good progress in maths lessons looking at the importance of the number line. We have recently been learning how the last number that we count can tell us how many numbers in total we have counted.
The Yellow Class pupils then used this knowledge to help them with some simple addition questions. We counted how many red cars we could see on our work sheets, and then how many blue cars. The pupils used some building blocks to visualise these numbers. We then counted how many building blocks we had to help answer a sum: 4 red cars plus 2 red cars = 6 cars in total.
This is a great approach in helping the pupils to think about the relationships between numbers. Our next step will be to help Yellow Class to present their work by writing out the sums independently. You can watch a short video of our maths counting above.
