Green Class have been reading The Train Ride book to help with our continued Speech, Language and Therapy learning. This is a book that contains many interesting animal characters. The pupils have been using the story to learn about the animals, and then recreate their faces in a collage.
An important part of this exercise is to encourage each Green Class member to work as independently as possible. All of the resources are made available to the children. If they require any extra adult help whilst preparing their collages then we ask that they use the Picture Exchange Communication system.
Choosing time is then offered up as a reward with many wonderful resources that help to stimulate the senses.
Green Class are also making regular weekly trips to the wonderful nearby Brockwell Park. Each Friday afternoon we take the children to the park to help explore the local area. We are interested in looking at the animals and plants, as well as feeling happy and comfortable when out in our local community.
