The Orange Class children recently had a wonderful trip to the Sea Life Centre by the River Thames. We have been reading the brilliant Hooray for Fish book as part of our literacy learning. The trip to Sealife Centre was a great opportunity for the children to see at first hand many of the aquatic creatures that we have been learning about.
Some of the highlights included seeing some stripy fish, the starfish and even some sharks! Orange Class had great fun gently touching the starfish. Thankfully we weren’t asked to touch the sharks, but it was certainly exciting seeing them up close in a safe environment. The penguin area was also popular amongst the pupils.
The teaching staff in Orange Class thought that all of the children behaved incredibly well throughout the trip. They were an absolute credit to the school.
Our learning for the remainder of the spring term will continue along a similar theme. Orange Class will be looking at the habitats of different animals, and seeing why each animal groups like a particular environment.
