Yellow Class have been making some strong progress with their literacy learning for the new spring term at Turney School. Regular guided reading and phonics work takes places each morning. This has then led to the children being introduced for the first time to the Snow White story.
The class members have been working in small groups alongside an adult and seeing how the story develops. The reading material is a mixture of words with plenty of pictures. The teaching staff continually ask the children what they can see to help gain an understanding of the story.
Different table activities have been set, depending on the learning expectations that we have for each Yellow Class member. Some of the children have been cutting out pictures, and then sticking them in the correct place on a sheet of paper to help tell the Snow White story.
