Class 11JE Learn About Animal Groups in Science

8

Class 11JE are continuing with their science topic learning about different animal types. The students are currently looking at what makes mammals different to other animal groups. We have seen how mammals contain fur and give birth through the womb.

A number of different sensory resources have been used to help the students identify the appearance of different mammals. The students have been using varying thicknesses of fur to stick on to animal outlines. The pupils have been asked to also think about the colour of fur.

Table work for this learning has involved each student working one on one with the teaching staff to successfully sort some pictures of mammals. The students were asked to match up identical animals, and then to repeat this when looking at the colour of the fur.

We have also been playing with a mammal puzzle. The challenge is to match up the correct mammal mother with her baby.
