Orange Class Independent Shapes Learning

Orange Class have been learning about different shapes during recent maths lessons. The aim has been for the children to be able to identify shapes such as squares, circles and rectangles.

Some fantastic resources have been put together by the teaching staff. We approached this by thinking about the needs of each pupil, and what activities they would enjoy.

One of the resources involves cubes being felt, and then they are placed in a circular pot. This helps the children who respond well to sensory activities. Another activity required the class members to stack similar shapes as part of a sorting activity.

This work is carried out as independently as possible. Each pupil has their own workstation. We ask them to feel proud about their work space, and to use the resources that they enjoy learning with.
