Light and dark is the main science topic for the Blue Class children at the start of the summer term. We have been using some practical resources to show how we can identify light or dark conditions. The children have also been seeing how light can form shadows.
This learning has been linked to our English work. Blue Class are currently reading The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark. This story also helps the children to understand a little more about emotions. We have been talking about what it means to feel happy or afraid.
Our Blue Class humanities learning this term is to consider people who help us. We have seen how this can include many different jobs such as shop workers, the police or teachers. Some of the higher level pupils have been expanding this work to describe some of the help that we receive.
We are planning many trips throughout the summer to see how people in our local community work to help us. The children will be learning more about this work, and why it is so important for our community.
