Busy Summer Term Ahead for Red Class Pupils

Red Class have been reading Peace as Last as our first book for the summer term. This tells the story about a bear family. The children have been sequencing the main events as part of our table work activities.

We have also been predicting what might happen next in the story. This helps the children to think about the plot in more detail. Some acting out has taken place. The children are asked to sign out some of the key events in the story.

Some of the higher ability Red Class members have been helped to re-tell the story. Picture cards have been used to help with this activity. The pupils are asked to focus on the characters that they can see, and what they then get up to.

A final task has been a piece of extended writing. The pupils are asked questions such as: describe the setting. The class members are asked to answer as fully as possible.
