Class 8GN Allotments Visit Video

Class 8GN are making a great success of their weekly trip to the school allotments. We use this opportunity to help the students feel comfortable in our community surroundings.

All students make the short walk to the allotments. Class teacher Miss B helps the children with their road safety skills.

A key skill at the allotments is to make an independent choice. The students are offered a selection of activities using the Picture Exchange Communication system. There is always plenty of work to do! Activities includes digging, planting and watering.

The next step is for the Class 8GN pupils to collect their tools from the shed. Gloves are also worn to keep our hands clean and safe. Then it is time for the hard work.

The final task is to clean our tools and place them back in the shed. We encourage the pupils to talk about their allotment visits and to explain the work that has been carried out.
