The Yellow Class children have been working on improving their phonics skills. We have a range of abilities with pupils aiming to complete levels two and three.
The children use their own visual timetable to help them structure their learning. Class teacher Anna sets objectives for the work, with a reminder of the reward that is on offer once we have completed a task. The pupils appreciate their time on the iPads.
Tasks have included matching a series of rhyming words by grouping them together. We are reading Shark in the Park as our main English text to help us with our phonics sounds.
Our recent Yellow Class trip to London Zoo was a great success. The children were able to see so many different types of animals. Some of the favourites included the giant tortoise, the camels and the selection of butterflies. We are hopeful of a trip to London Aquarium later in the term.
