Class 10TD have been working on a food tech topic involving different types of wraps. We have seen how this is a useful technique to help present a selection of foods together. Recent recipes have included samosas pastry puffs.
The spring roll lesson was also very successful. Each class member was given a recipe sheet. They were asked to follow the instructions carefully.
The students needed to use chopping and grating skills to help prepare the fillings. This was a good exercise for improving fine motor skills. Ingredients included cucumber, yellow peppers, radish, lettuce, herbs and spring onions.
After fillings were prepared, the next step was to wrap these in some rice paper. The pupils had to judge how much of each fulling could be used. We finished the session by self-assessing the taste of our spring rolls.
