Blue Class have been carrying out some brilliant role play as part of our daily afternoon snack session. This involves a class member taking on the role of a shopkeeper with the other pupils being the customers.
This is a very realistic role play session. Each customer is given some pretend money from the bank to shop with. They are then asked to speak with the shopkeeper and make a choice. The food on sale includes biscuits, fruit, rice cake, cereals and juice. It is a great way to help with speech development.
Once a choice is made the shopkeeper puts the money in the till and hands over any change. This activity also fits in with our maths learning. Blue Class have been learning how to recognise different coins. Some of the pupils have completed some addition sums using the coins.
