Silver Class Summer Term Fun in Brockwell Park

Silver Class are planning plenty of trips to the nearby Brockwell Park during the summer term. The children enjoy their time exploring the facilities in our local community.

We will also be continuing with our focus on helping the children with the Picture Exchange Communication system. This is the main resource that we use throughout the school to help all pupils access the curriculum.

Our PE activities in Silver Class will also continue during the summer term. The children have great fun playing in the large tunnels, and climbing and jumping from our gym apparatus. Weekly music therapy will continue with Miss G.

Finally we would like to mention our new reading text for Silver Class. The children will be looking at the story of Kofi and the Magic throughout the summer term. This is a sensory story that tells the story of an African boy and what he can see around him.

We will be planning many activities that help the Silver Class children to feel and touch some of the experiences found in the story. This will include touching different materials, coconuts, and warm surfaces.

Table work will involved the children understanding what we can see in Africa. We will be matching pictures and recognising the makaton signs of African animals.
