Red Class Children Settle into Autumn Term Routine

The new Red Class children have been settling in well to our class routine. We start each morning with breakfast snacks. The children are encouraged to prepare their own light snacks. Another aim is to help with communication. Class members need to ask for any food or items.

The children are then ready for their table work sessions. Each class member has their own learning objectives. The children are responsible for organising their own work once it has been finished.

Our current table work is phonics based. The children have been completing words that start with certain letters. Part of this learning is to recognise that we need to stay at our own work stations.

Other areas of the curriculum for the autumn term in Red Class will be themed around the weather and the changing seasons. We will be studying each season during our geography lessons.

Guided writing will involve the children writing the names of each month and season. Our class reading book for this term will be Peace at Last. Maths work in Red Class will help the children to count from 1-20. Finally our science work will explore the circulatory system of animals.

A busy term ahead in Red Class!
