Year 14 Sculptures and Exploring Sensory Resources

The Year 14 students have been working on some sculptures as part of our regular art lessons. One group of learners have been using paper mache to create some rocket style space helmets.

We used paper mache to cover a ballon to give the rounded effect. Layers needed to be built up to build a strong structure. This activity also helped the students with their sensory needs. The students were asked to work independently on this project.

Another group of Year 14 students have been exploring different art materials. We have been seeing how clay can be manipulated to change the shape.

A final activity for another group has involved using water colours to try and change the colour tone. Completion of each activity is rewarded with some choosing time on the iPads or class puzzles.
