The Turney Secondary Singing and Signing Assembly took a little time to think about Bonfire Night ahead of our recent morning of music. Assembly Leader Mark asked the students what the date was. One pupil identified that it was 5th of November.
Mark showed the students the signs that we use for different Bonfire Night celebrations. The pupils were able to sign out Guy Fawkes, fireworks and bonfire.
The 5th November is also a special day for one of the Year 11 pupils who was celebrating his birthday. The assembly sang Happy Birthday to mark the occasion.
It was then time for singing and signing to take place. Three songs were performed: Stand By Me, Don’t Go Breaking My Heart and What a Wonderful World.
Assembly Leader Mark concluded the session by asking the students to think of some more words about Bonfire night. Suggestions included the colours of the fireworks and items of winter clothing.
