Silver Class Sensory Bear Hunt Fun

Silver Class had great fun going on the Turney School Bear Hunt! Our current class reading book is Michael’s Rosen’s famous tale about hunting for the bear.

We have been watching short videos of the different scenes together. The learning aim was to help the class members to sequence the story as the landscape changes.

To help with this task we set up a Bear Hunt in the Nursery! This was a strong sensory activity. The different scenes in the book were all represented.

The Nursery children were able to experience grass, water, mud, ice and finally the cave where the bear lives. We finished off back indoors underneath our bed covers.

Small groups of children were led on the bear hunt by the teaching staff. We read out the story as we went along the bear hunt trail. The Silver Class children were asked to describe how they felt at each location.
