Class 9CM are working on improving their cricket fielding techniques as part of our recent PE sessions. Our lessons usually start with a light warm up with some stretches and some runs. The key here was to listen and follow instructions.
PE teacher Mr Jones then organised the students into a circle. A ball was thrown to each class member. They were asked to catch it using their hands as a bucket, and then to throw the ball back. This activity was varied to include a pick up of the ball as it was rolled along the ground.
The final activity combined these skills with aiming to throw the ball at the wickets. The ball was rolled along the ground. Students took turns in picking up the ball, and then taking a strike at the stumps.
