Class 1G have been learning all about the difference between big and small during our maths lessons. We introduced to the children a big box, and a small box. Each box contained similar items, such as a big metre stick and a small ruler, or a big shoe and small shoe. We encouraged the children to explore the objects, to help gain a better understanding of big and small. We then took both the big and small items out of the boxes and mixed them up. We asked each child to find a particular object, and then place it in the correct box. This work was then followed up with some table work involving the sorting of different sizes.
