Class 3J is focusing on athletics during our PE sessions for the summer term. We have been learning how this incorporates running, jumping and throwing. As ever, Class 3J put into practice the importance of stretching and warming up before any strenuous exercise. We worked with our partners on a series of short shuttle sprints, building up the speed each time.
A simple circuit-training course was then set up, designed to help the pupils with the flexibility and strength that we need to be good athletes. Once again we worked in pairs on activities such as star jumps, press ups and tuck jumps. This work will continue to develop throughout the term, leading to a series of athletic events that we can compete in during our Class 3J PE sessions.
