Class 3J P.E. Video

With the 2012 London Olympics almost upon us, Class 3J have been practicing for our own major summer sporting event – the Turney School Sports Day! We have been working hard in our P.E. lessons on the various techniques that we need for both track and field events. Our recent sessions have focussed on javelin throwing. We started off our work by using a tennis ball. We asked the pupils to think about what type of stance would help them to throw the ball the furthest distance. Class 3J concentrated on a good, strong leg stance, and then we learnt how we can use our non-throwing arm to direct the ball or the javelin. The techniques were incredibly impressive as you can see from the video above.
