Blue Class Food Preparation

Blue Class have been learning about different foods from around the world and how local meals depend on the ingredients that are available. There has also been a practical element to this work, with some of the food also being prepared or cooked!

We enjoyed our recent session making taboule, a traditional dish that is eaten around most North African countries. We started off our session by thinking about some of the ingredients that we needed. Tomatoes, cucumber, coriander and of course, couscous.

All Blue Class members followed the instructions carefully. We worked together as a team to chop and prepare the tomatoes, cucumber and coriander. We then used our maths knowledge to weight the correct amount of couscous, and then added some boiling water. The final ingredient was some olive oil, to bond our taboule together.

Sounds tasty? You can find out by watching the video above.
