Blue Class RE

Blue Class

Our RE work for this term in Blue Class will help the children to be able to identify different religious buildings, and to explain why some of the features are important. We started off this work by looking at a Mosque. We showed the Blue Class pupils a model of Mosque with some of the main features visible from the outside.

We then invited the Blue Class members to describe what they could see, and to point out some of the features to the rest of the pupils. We identified doors, special shaped windows and the large dome and moon crescent that is found on the roof of a Mosque. We then looked at some photographs on the class whiteboard of some real life Mosques. We asked the children to mach up the features on these with those on our own Blue Class model. We will be continuing this exercise throughout the autumn term, looking at places of worship for other major world religions.
