Our new Class 10 pupils at Turney School have been looking at number bonds and how we can use memory games to help us solve maths number problems. Some pupils have been looking at addition statements, whilst others have been working on their multiplication skills.
A core theme has been how we can reverse sums to help with an answer: if we know that 2 + 4 = 6, then we should also understand that 4 + 2 = 6. Likewise with multiplication: we know that 2 x 4 = 8, and so therefore 4 x 2 = 8.
All pupils have access to a number grid or a multiplication table. They are able to refer to these if they need some help.
