Class 10P have been learning how to identify different shapes as part of our maths learning for the new school year. We have been encouraging the students to think carefully about what are the identifying features that define a shape.
We have been looking at the number of sides, the length of each side, the number of corners and whether a shape is a 2D or a 3D shape.
We advanced this activity from looking at simple shapes such as a square or a circle, to identifying and describing shapes such as a pentagon or a cylinder. This learning was reinforced in our table work as the students matched up different shapes.
