Class 10M have been exploring some new resources as part of our maths learning at Turney School. The large Lego bricks are incredibly popular with the pupils. We use these as a warm up activity ahead of the main maths learning. The students are asked to feel the shapes of each brick, and to try and identify the colours. Building large towers is all part of this process.
Each student then works with the teaching staff on their own table activities. These are organised to meet the specific learning aims of each pupil. Activities involve number identification and recognition. Matching and sorting activities are also important. Some of the pupils are working towards improving their number writing skills.
