Class 3H have been showing some fantastic basketball skills as part of the PE learning for the spring term. Mr Jones has been explaining how anticipating to catch the basketball is an important skill if we want to succeed in this sport.
All of the class members were asked to run around the outdoor court. Mr Jones threw the ball to each pupil whilst they were on the move. The students had to catch the ball, and then pass the ball back to Mr Jones. The challenge was set to complete ten successful catches. Once this was completed we speeded up the activity.
Small groups then worked on improving their dribbling and shooting skills. Five passes had to be completed. The fifth person to be in possession of the ball was then asked to dribble towards the basket and make a shot. This is the basic of developing team play within basketball. Class 3H have been making some brilliant progress.
