Yellow Class have been working hard on maths and literacy work as we approach the end of the summer term at Turney School. The focus for maths learning has been on counting, sorting and number writing. Different activities have been set up for each class member. Some pupils have been working on single digit addition. Different counting games have been introduced to help with this learning.
Our literacy work in Yellow has been spent reading We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. Different scenes in the book have been acted out by the children to help them understand what is taking place in each scene. We have also used the story to help the Yellow Class children continue with their phonics learning. We have looked at some of the key words in the text, and then sounded out the phonics that we can hear.
