Construction on the dedicated new Turney School Sixth Form block is continuing at a tremendous pace. The foundations, support and roof are now in place. Brickwork will start once the school term finishes. The building will be ready by the end of August ahead of the new school term.
This will be a dedicated learning unit that will be able to offer up a unique learning opportunity for the students. The curriculum will be a mixture of academic learning and continued social skills learning. It will be under the expert tuition of Mr. Jones.
Work will also start soon on building the new Turney School Cafe at the front of the building. The space has been cleared ahead of work starting on this project. This will be a very exciting project for the new Sixth Form students to be involved with. The idea is for the students to offer a local cafe service, and in return the pupils will be able to improve their social skills in the community.
All staff are incredibly excited about the new Sixth Form opportunities that will await the first intake of students when they return to Turney School in September.
