Yellow Class Literacy Learning

Yellow Class have wasted no time in producing some superb literacy work following the summer break. Different worksheets have been set, depending on the learning expectations that we have for each class member. The overall theme is to help improve the phonics skills for each pupil.

Some of the children have been presented with a sheet where a three letter word has a missing letter. The children work one-on-one with an adult to work out what the missing sound might be. Verbal repetition is very important for this activity.

This learning also involves letter recognition. Most of the Yellow Class children are now able to identify the marjory of the letters in the alphabet. This knowledge will also be used when we start work on our main fairytales topic for the new term.

The children have also produced some early artwork for the start of the autumn term. We have asked each class member to produce a self portrait. Once finished, these will form a colourful display that will be proudly on show in our classroom.
