Green Class Spring Term Activities

Green Class have had an incredibly busy first half of the spring term with many different activities and achievements. Our main reading book has been the story of Elmer the elephant. This is a character that isn’t quite the same as the other elephants. Elmer has some problems in fitting in.

The story develops to show how Elmer suffers from bullying. We have used this example to talk about what it means to be a good friend in Green Class, and how we should all be able to get along, no matter how different we are.

Other recent English work has included a continuation of our phonics learning. The children have moved on to look at a selection of new sounds, and how we can use these to help with both our speech and spelling.

The friendship theme has also seen the children playing many different social games to help the class members bond together. Work will start after the half term break on the children thinking of some Green Class rules that we will all agree upon.

Elsewhere there has been some wonderful artwork being created to display around our classroom, as well as the continuation of the weekly swimming and trampolining sessions. A busy half term in Green Class!
