The Orange Class children are starting to get incredibly excited about our trip later in the term to see a production of James and the Giant Peach. We have been very kindly invited along to the Polka Dot Theatre in Wimbledon to see a production of the show.
Plenty of preparation is taking place first back at Turney School to help the children become familiar with the main characters and the plot. Our friends from the Polka Dot Theatre will be visiting Orange Class for a pre-show workshop, and then a second session after the performance.
We have been using a colourful version of the story that contains many pictures to help with this learning. The children have been responding well and are able to recognise the main characters.
Meanwhile our food tech learning in Orange Class has also been themed around James and the Giant Peach. The children recently made a healthy fruit salad containing some peaches. We are also hopeful of baking a peach crumble later on in the term.
