Optical Art Designs in Class 7RH

7

Artwork in Class 7RH for the second half of the summer term has involved the students exploring the idea of optical art. This refers to designs that can distort our understanding of traditional art.

Some famous artists have been researched by the Class 7RH members. We have looked at the styles used by Victor Vasarley, Bridget Riley and MC Escher. The pupils have been helped to see how movement plays an important part to help create the illusions.

Each class member was then asked to choose their favourite optical artist, and then create a piece of original artwork inspired by their ideas. Some clever colour choices were made to help highlight the illusions in our work.
