Purple Class Children Make Super Start to the New Term

4

The new Purple Class pupils have made a super start to the new autumn term at Turney School. This is quite a transition for the children as it is the first time that the idea of table work has been introduced to their learning.

Kasia and her team have wasted no time in starting work on some of the learning topics that will take place this term. The children have started work on the new class book of Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?.

A large part of this learning will involve looking at the different animals and colours that can be found in the forest. Phonics work will form part of this learning. The Purple Class children will be helped to sound out some of the words contained in the book.

We are also putting a lot of focus on using the Picture Exchange Communication system. This is an image based system that helps pupils to ask for resources or needs.

This has been a very encouraging start for the new Purple Class children as they move towards a more independent way of learning.
