Recent PE lessons in Purple Class have involved the children improving their basketball skills. We ave a number of small hoops in our Purple Class outdoor play space that can be used for this activity.
Some of the children were at first a little scared about using the big balls. The teaching staff have helped them to overcome this. We now find that all of the children are keen to play and work together as a team!
This activity has many different benefits. As well as ball control, it also helps the children to understand the concept of sharing. Each class member is asked to take it in turns when shooting at the basket.
The teaching staff have also been helping with some passing games. The children have been improving their senses of direction and strength when passing the balls to the adults.
