Class 9TD have been learning about maps as part of our geography learning for the spring term. The pupils have looked at the importance of symbols in helping to find different locations on a map.
Different types of maps have been studied. Each class member has identified some of the main symbols. Short descriptions have been written to explain what we can see.
Colourful semantics have also formed part of this learning. This is a technique that helps the students to build their own sentences.
We have used play dough to help recreate some of the symbols that can be found on maps. A fun game of Map Symbol Bingo has been played.
