Class 10JB Ancient Egypt Archeological Sensory Dig

Class 10JB have been learning about Ancient Egypt in humanities. The students have been looking at pictures of famous Ancient Egyptians such as Cleopatra. They have completed table work to see how the clothes worn by the Ancient Egyptians are different to ours.

The students then took part in a practical archaeological dig! We had a large box with a sand layer to explore. Buried away was many different Ancient Egyptian artefacts. Class teacher Miss M showed a picture of a particular object. The role of our young archeologists was to find the object buried away in the sand.

This was a great sensory activity for the students to enjoy. They enjoyed feeling their way around the sand to find the artefacts. Our humanities work will now look at the Easter story as we approach the end of the spring term.
