Red Class Summer Term Poetry Learning

Red Class will be reading different poems during the summer term at Turney School. The pupils will start by defining how a poem is different to other forms of writing. We wil look at the characteristics and some of the key words in famous poems.

Our history work in Red Class will involve a study of the Vikings. The children will be looking at maps to see where the Vikings travelled from, and how they were able to sail into Britain. Our research will also look at Viking clothing and houses.

Red Class will continue to make the most of the spring weather with regular trips to Brockwell Park. We are planning to hold some picnics in the park during the summer term.

The pupils will learn about how we can organise for a picnic. This will include what food and other items we need to pack. The children are looking forward to spending some time together and improving our friendships in the park.
