Blue Class are busy working on their personal awareness topic ahead of the half term break. One of the key aims to help the children to explore and understand their own personal feelings.
We have read the book The Way I Feel to help with this learning. This is a very visual book showing some of the facial expressions that we associate with each emotion. The children have used mirrors to copy some of these expressions.
Our daily guided reading in Blue Class has seen a focus on name recognition. The children have matched the letters contained in their own names. Some of the children are able to copy their names, whilst others have met their targets by tracing the letters.
Measurement has been the main theme during Blue Class maths lessons. The children are looking at the concepts of big and small.
We will be starting a new topic after the half term break looking at money. The children will learning how to identify different coins and notes. Role play will be part of this learning. A Blue Class shop will be set up involving a shop keeper and shoppers!
