Purple Class are learning about the colours of the rainbow. We are reading Elmer the Patchwork Elephant to help with this topic. This is a story about a colourful elephant who looks different to his friends.
Many table work work activities have taken place based around the book. Some of the children have completed Elmer puzzles to match up the main parts of his body.
Another activity has involved sorting and matching up different coloured crocodiles. A rainbow puzzle has also been completed by the pupils.
This learning has also taken place outside. The Purple Class children have had great fun exploring the coloured water and sand. This also helps to stimulate their sensory needs.
It is also worth mentioning the progress that Purple Class are making with their daily snack routine. One of the key aims is to improve communication. Some of the class members are confident in using the Picture Exchange Communication system to make their choices.
