Our first food tech sessions in Class 8AV have looked at food safety. The pupils are learning why it is important for us all to stay safe in the kitchen, and how we can go about this.
This learning has focussed on the kitchen layout and where each work station is. The class members are expected to stay within their own area and to take responsibility for keeping it tidy.
This theory was put to the test with our first practical session. On the menu was a tasty quesadillas wrap. This is part of our healthy eating topic. The class members needed to demonstrate chopping and grating skills.
Each pupil collected the required ingredients from the food table. They then worked independently in following the recipe instructions.
