Class 11EJ are carrying out some thoughtful humanities work learning about places of worship. We have started our research exploring some of the features found in a Christian Church.
We have compared some of these with other buildings. The students were asked to comment on how windows in a Church are different to the windows we can see in our classroom.
Different table activities have taken place. Some students have labelled the different parts of a Church. Another group have filled in the missing words to answer a question about Churches.
Some of the Class 11EJ members are using sensory resources to understand how Christians worship in a Church. They are introduced to each item, and then asked to explain what the purpose is.
Future lessons will look at suitable behaviour within a Church and how each item is used for worship.
