Class 13EG baked some tasty potato cakes during their first food tech session for the new spring term. Teaching staff expect students of this age to work independently as they follow the recipe sheet.
The first task was to collect the equipment needed. This encourages the students to become familiar with their own working space. Each item is ticked off once it has been found.
The recipe involved peeling a potato and then mashing it up. Grating skills were used to prepare the cheese and garlic. The final task was to break an egg and mix it in our bowl.
Each potato cake ball was then rolled in bread crumbs before they were baked in the oven. The end result was a tasty snack to take home and share with our families.
